Hello,

Welcome to Ducor Union Elementary School District web page. Ducor School is a small rural community south of the city of Porterville off Highway 65 and east of Earlimart off Highway 99. Ducor School is a TK-8 school district. There are ten certificated instructors and nine classified support providers and four administrative support providers. Ducor School is extremely proud of its history, traditions, school mission and student achievements. I encourage you to visit Ducor School when you have an opportunity during our 2023-24 school year.

I am excited to share with you who I am and my experience. Currently I am the Superintendent.  My professional experience began teaching for thirteen years. I have had many great experiences working with many students and school districts. Currently, I have supported Ducor School as superintendent/principal since October 2014. During the 2021 school year, the school board elected to hire a principal. My role moved as the superintendent only. Our principal, Dr. Jesse Coronado, was hired to help lead our students, staff and community.

Ducor School students have made tremendous reading level gains during our 2023-24 school year. We have students in our Kinder class reading at first grade. We have students in grade one who are reading at grade levels 3 and 4. These are just a few student examples that reflect the tremendous growth in reading and comprehension through all our grade levels. This is due to the leadership of our principal, Dr. Coronado, and our staff that have supported our students implementing Reading Through Intervention (RTI) program. Additionally Ducor School staff are being coached to improve learning experiences and achievement in Math. We are committed to working with the Central Valley Networked Improvement Community (CVNIC) and the Tulare County Office of Education (TCOE) coaching and training. Finally, during the 2023-24 summer school program, Ducor students will have an opportunity to experience hands on Science projects. We have collaborated with College and Career Ready Labs; Paxton/Patterson to start a new program. These science projects will be aligned to our high school career pathways programs. We are excited to provide these types of programs for our students. We know and understand that our students are our long term investment for their own success. We hope your family can join us too.

As  the superintendent,  I encourage our students to be taken on school field trips that support their current learning modalities. Our students are motivated to ask questions and are encouraged to be positive role models for each other.  Ducor School support our students social and emotional learning through our counseling team; SEL counselor, psychologist, social worker, speech therapist,  and our sign language interpreter. Our students receive a structured curriculum schedule, daily physical education program, a sports program, Arts and Crafts and cooking class. We teach our students VALORES. Values to live by; to have self-control, respect for others and to make positive choices for themselves and with others. We support our student learning on and off the school through technology. Each student has a computer in class and at home. Our small community has internet service connected with fiber optic. Ducor School also is connected via fiber optic. Our classrooms are equipped with the current Promethean boards, television monitors, and overhead projectors.  We do not hesitate when we seek success for our students and staff. Our school mission statement ends with "Stand and Deliver, No Excuses".

Our parents are always encouraged to be part of their students learning.  Either through daily volunteering, weekly visits, monthly award assemblies and chaperoning field trips. Having the parents support and encouragement will always make a difference in our students learning every day. We also encourage our parents to participate in various sub committees: DLAC, Student Body, PTA, School Board Meetings, LCAP, School Safety Plan, School Nutrition and Wellness plan, Game Day, Track Event, October Fest, Winter Program, Awards Assembly, Arts and Craft, Cooking Class, ESL for Adults and other areas of support for our students.

Please do not hesitate to call us at 559-534-2261.  I do appreciate your support. Thank you again for visiting Ducor School webpage.

Thank you.

Isidro Rodriguez, Superintendent
